What's New in CoffeePals

We've been busy building features that give matching admins more control over how people connect and how access to programs is managed. Here's everything in our latest release.

Advanced Matching

The biggest addition in this release is the Advanced Matching program type — a powerful upgrade to how CoffeePals decides who meets whom. Instead of being limited to matching people within a single audience, you can now design programs that intentionally pair people across audiences based on rules you define.

How it works:

  • Administrators build matching rules that span multiple audiences (e.g., "match someone from Engineering with someone from Product")
  • Combine cross-audience rules with attribute filters to fine-tune who is eligible to meet
  • Rules can be layered to create more nuanced matching logic — perfect for mentorship programs, cross-departmental connections, or onboarding buddies
  • A live preview shows you how your rules will affect matching before you launch

This unlocks use cases that weren't possible before: structured mentor/mentee programs, deliberate cross-team exposure, leadership-to-IC connections, and onboarding pairings between new hires and tenured employees.

Audience Org Units

Audiences can now be organized into a hierarchy, with clear ownership and inherited access. This is a big improvement for larger organizations where audiences map to teams, departments, or regional structures.

New Roles & Permissions Page

We've shipped a redesigned roles page that gives administrators a single place to manage who can do what across CoffeePals. Roles, permissions, and entitlements are now unified into one clear surface, so granting someone the right access takes seconds instead of digging through multiple settings.

Highlights:

  • See every role and its associated permissions in one view
  • Assign program participation, audience ownership, and management rights from a single place

Under the Hood

  • Fixed an issue where match cards in Microsoft Teams weren't updating correctly for the other participant after one-click scheduling
  • Various smaller bug fixes across the platform
