CoffeePals Update: The Web Inbox, Streak Leaderboards, and Smarter Check-ins

What's New in CoffeePals

We've been heads-down on this one. This release takes CoffeePals out of the chat window and into your browser, rethinks who the leaderboard celebrates, and gives admins a say in when check-ins land. Here's what's new.

CoffeePals on the Web

You don't have to be in Slack or Teams to keep a conversation going anymore. The new web Inbox brings your CoffeePals cards into the browser, where you can read them, act on them, and chat directly with the person you were matched with.

How it works:

• Every CoffeePals card, from match intros to icebreakers to surveys, now shows up in your web Inbox
• Chat one-on-one with your match right in the browser. No app switching, no hunting for the right thread.
• A participant sidebar shows you who you're talking to: their name, role, and a short bio, so you can walk in with something to say
• Unread badges keep track of what you haven't got to yet
• New message waiting on the web? You'll get a nudge in Teams or Slack, so nothing sits unread for a week

It's the first step toward CoffeePals meeting your team wherever they already are, whether that's Slack, Teams, or a browser tab.

Leaderboards That Reward Showing Up

The leaderboard we post after each round used to rank people by total matches, which meant the same handful of long-tenured names sat at the top month after month. Not especially motivating if you joined in March. It now ranks by streak: how many cycles in a row you've actually met your match.

• The post-round leaderboard highlights current streaks of consecutive cycles met
• Anyone can climb it. You just have to keep showing up.

Choose When the Check-in Goes Out

"Did you meet your match?" is how CoffeePals knows a connection actually happened. It feeds your participation numbers and the new streak leaderboard. Until now it went out on a fixed schedule. Now program admins get to pick.

Three options:

• Weekly, if you want a steady pulse on how things are going
• Halfway through the cycle, a gentle nudge while there's still time to meet
• At the end of the cycle, one quiet ask and nothing more

Shorter cycles usually do better with fewer reminders. Longer ones tend to benefit from that mid-point nudge.

• Cards across Slack, Teams, and the web are now managed in one shared system, so they update and refresh reliably
• Plenty of smaller fixes and polish across web chat, match cards, and program messages
