Try CoffeePals freeFrequently asked questions
- Is this generator really free?
- Yes — completely free, no signup, no email required, and no watermark on the downloaded image. Use it as often as you like.
- Where do my uploaded photos and logos go?
- Nowhere. Every image you add is processed in your browser using the HTML canvas API. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, nothing is stored, nothing is tracked.
- What image size does it produce?
- Cards export as 1200×630 PNGs. That ratio is ideal for Slack image previews, LinkedIn posts, and email signatures, and looks crisp on retina displays.
- How do I post the card to Slack?
- Two options. Click Download to save the PNG and drag it into any Slack channel or DM. Or click Copy image and paste it directly into a message with Cmd+V or Ctrl+V.
- Can I add my company logo?
- Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG in the Company logo section and it will appear at the top of every template. Your branding stays consistent across cards.
- Do I need to include a start date?
- No — the start-date field is optional. If you include it, "Joined June 2026" is a friendlier format than a specific weekday.
- When should I post a new hire welcome card?
- Post it in your main team or company channel on the new hire’s first day, ideally within the first hour. That gives the team time to react with welcomes throughout day one, which makes a bigger impression than a single post.
- What should I include in a Slack welcome message for new employees?
- Name, role, what team they’re joining, and one warm sentence — that’s it. Resist the urge to write a bio. The card carries the visual, and teammates will fill in the rest by introducing themselves in thread.
- Can I use the same card across Slack and our HR tools?
- Yes — the PNG works anywhere images do: Slack, Teams, BambooHR, Notion, Greenhouse onboarding pages, email. Same card, multiple surfaces.
- Should we ask the new hire’s permission before posting their photo?
- Yes — always check. A quick "Mind if I use your LinkedIn headshot for a welcome card?" is enough. Some people prefer no photo, and the templates work great with just the initial placeholder.
